Short Stay is the middle option at Bristol Airport: pricier than leaving a car at Silver Zone for days, but built for waits longer than a quick Drop and Go set-down.
The quick answer
Short Stay parking at Bristol Airport starts at £8.50 for up to 15 minutes, rising to £30.00 for 1 to 4 hours and £65.00 for 12 to 24 hours. The Short Stay car park sits opposite the terminal building, an 8 to 10 minute walk away, with its own dedicated entry and exit lanes for a quicker getaway than the main multi-storey. It suits picking someone up when their flight might run late, or a short visit to the terminal, rather than leaving a car for a whole trip. This page covers Short Stay specifically; for a full comparison of every official car park, including Multi-Storey and Silver Zone, see how much parking costs at Bristol Airport. Prices checked 2026, effective from 5 January 2026.

The tariff rose on 5 January 2026, confirmed by Bristol Airport and reported at the time by the BBC and Bristol Live, so if you've used the car park before, treat older price guides as out of date. Short Stay is built around waits measured in minutes and hours rather than days: once you're past the 12 to 24 hour band, the Multi-Storey or Silver Zone work out far cheaper for anything running into a second day or more. The full multi-day breakdown and how Short Stay compares to the Multi-Storey and Silver Zone car parks is in our parking cost guide.
Where is the Short Stay car park?
Short Stay sits directly opposite the main terminal building, an 8 to 10 minute walk from the doors, with its own dedicated exits separate from the multi-storey and Meet & Greet car parks. It's a self-park car park, so there's no valet step to add time on either end of your trip. Blue badge holders will find dedicated accessible bays signposted next to the bus stop in the centre of the car park, with an intercom at the entry barrier if you need assistance. Special assistance passengers being dropped off or collected can also use the separate Drop Off & Pick Up car park for up to 40 minutes at a reduced £8.50 fee, by scanning a blue badge at the exit barrier.
How it compares to the alternatives
- Drop and Go is cheaper for a genuine quick set-down (from £8.50 for up to 10 minutes) and sits closer to the terminal doors, but its charges climb fast if you end up waiting, reaching £60 for 1 to 2 hours. See our drop-off page for the full tariff.
- The Waiting Zone at the Car Rental Centre is free for the first hour, with a shuttle to the terminal every 15 minutes. If you're collecting someone and don't mind a short bus ride at the end, it beats Short Stay's £25 to £30 for the same wait.
- The Multi-Storey car park costs £60.00 for up to 24 hours, more than Short Stay for a few hours but cheaper than Short Stay once a stay runs past a day. It's the better choice if you're not sure how long you'll be, since the price gap with Short Stay narrows quickly.
- Silver Zone park and ride is built for leaving a car for 3 days or more, from £100.00 for 3 days with a free shuttle every 15 minutes, not for a few hours at the terminal.

When Short Stay makes sense
Short Stay is the right call when you want to be close to the terminal for a wait of an hour or so, for example if you're meeting someone off a flight that could be delayed and you'd rather not risk the Drop and Go charge climbing, but you don't want the shuttle-bus step that comes with the free Waiting Zone. It's also useful for a quick visit into the terminal itself, to see someone off at check-in or collect a delayed bag, where a few hours' cover is more useful than a 15-minute Drop and Go slot.
Short Stay's multi-day rates are closer to the Multi-Storey than you might expect: a 3-day stay is £140.00 in Short Stay against £165.00 in the Multi-Storey, so Short Stay can still work out cheaper for a short trip if you want to stay in that car park anyway. Silver Zone remains the cheapest of the three for anything longer, at £100.00 for 3 days with a free shuttle. If you already know your trip will run a week or more, book Silver Zone from the outset rather than defaulting to Short Stay.
Booking ahead
As with every car park at Bristol Airport, gate prices can run well above a rate booked in advance. If you know roughly when you'll need Short Stay, pre-booking online before you travel is the more reliable way to fix the cost rather than finding out the price on arrival. Bristol Airport also offers free cancellation up to 48 hours before your stated arrival time if your plans change.
If you'd rather skip parking altogether
If you're only dropping off or collecting, you don't need a car park at all: the free Waiting Zone or the Drop and Go tariff will usually work out cheaper than Short Stay, depending on how long you expect to wait. If you're travelling yourself and don't want to drive, our taxi page and public transport page cover the alternatives, and our Zoom Cars vs Tick Taxi comparison breaks down taxi pricing specifically.
